We all work hard for a better future, but when we finally have the money and time, when we finally retire from the absurd routine of this life, we die. Sorry to point this out so bluntly, but this is the truth. How can we improve our life span? Let’s take a look at the longest living people in the world.
The longest living person in the world is from France: Jeanne Calment. With a total of 122 years and 164 days, she is recorded to be the person with the longest life-span in the whole world. Does that suggest something about French cuisine or olive oil? Should I put more olive oil on my salad now?
Jeanne is followed with Sarah Knauss from United States with 119 years and 97 days. The second longest living person on earth is from United States and this tells us that maybe it is not about olive oil, after all.
After Sarah and Jeanne, 4 women follow. Each of these 4 women has lived for 117 years and only days after the 117th year is different. These 4 women are from United States, Canada, Italy and Japan. Did you notice something? Yes, all longest living people so far have been females.
This tradition continues with four other women who lived for 116 years. They are from Ecuador, Jamaica and United States. So we have a list of ten longest living people of earth and all of them are females, very interesting.
Why all of these people are female? Can it be genetic or is it because women are more capable of taking take of themselves than men because they have been taking care of some many others for so long? Maybe science in the future will give us answers.
